Artist Statement
I create abstract, multi-media works using pre-loved metal, each piece carrying its own quirky history before it reaches my studio. I make my own painting pigments through natural oxidation, coaxing rich, muted tones from the rusting process itself. No two palettes are alike. Guided by the golden ratio, I balance classical composition against the unpredictable beauty of decay, creating work that feels both fragile and robust. Each of my works is one-of-a-kind, shaped as much by the material’s past life as by my hand.
The Artist
Hi, I’m Willow, a Sussex-based artist. I am interested in creating fine artworks out of preloved materials. I make my own painting pigments from these resources to create a new life from their hidden beauty. I am always looking for new, exciting ways to adapt and challenge my practice. From painting to sculpture, I create works that are filled with material excitement and difference.
