Screen-print, rust canvas

Inspired by the beauty of decay.

Size: The dimensions of this piece are 80cm X 80cm X 4.4cm

Materials: I hand-made the wooden stretcher frame. Stretched with raw, unprimed canvas to allow for the rusting process. The text was created using hand-set letterpress, which was then developed into a screen print and printed directly onto the canvas. Pre-loved metal was used to create natural rust effects on the surface. Texture was built using artist-quality acrylic medium, along with coffee grounds and sawdust. Watercolour-like marks were created using natural oak gall ink.
